Figuring out what the best chocolate candy is can be tough, but I think I am up to the task. I have tried almost every kind of confection out there and for the most part the all contain chocolate. You may disagree with me on this, and that is fine, but I am just outlining my criteria so that we can both be on the same page.

I also am excluding anything with ice cream from this as well. While bon bons are awesome treats, they are not what I would call a best chocolate candy because the primary focus is the ice cream, not the chocolate. This brings us to the next qualification, and that is the in order to be consider a best chocolate candy the chocolate has to be the focus. There are many candies out there that incorporate chocolate but use it to accentuate another ingredient but do not focus on it.

Ok, so now that we have narrowed the field down a bit we can probably make a better decision. For me what truly represents the best chocolate candy is the chocolate truffle. These candies come in a variety of flavors, but in all their different forms they still manage to accentuate the chocolate flavor. This candy allows a chocolatier to express his imagination and show his creative side while still being true to the flavor of chocolate. From French vanilla to white Russian, from mint to cappuccino, truffles have it all.
